Strawberry Farm Positions at Prairie Berry Farm (from owner Tom Cross):
We have opportunities for several very flexible positions during our strawberry season this year, approximately June 1 through June 30. Jobs would involve taking phone orders, picking, sorting, handling berries, as well as customer relations.
These positions could be an opportunity for hard work outdoors. They could involve an internship if your college allows. They could operate as a mentorship for someone considering opening their own U-Pick or farmers market operation. We would consider trading your labor for use of our acreage, but would need to start very soon.
We are a small family grain farm in northern Logan County with a two and a quarter acre Pre-picked and U-pick strawberry sideline business, which may include sweet corn this season. We are not organic but practice integrated pest management. We would like several interns or mentorships as well as several picking crew positions. Wages are negotiable depending on arrangement, for the right people meals and lodging or camping might be possible. Please consider applying.
